Northern Lights Public Schools is pleased to announce that Peter Desmond will be joining the division as its new Director of Business Services.
“We are excited for Mr. Desmond to bring a new perspective to NLPS along with his experience in municipal finance,” said Superintendent Rick Cusson.
For the last three years Mr. Desmond has worked at the City of Cold Lake, first as Accountant and then as Finance Manager. In addition to a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, he also has a CPA designation, which he earned in 2020 while working for a private accounting firm.
“I am excited to be joining NLPS to help provide financial oversight for the development of youth and children that are impacted by the school division,” said Desmond. “I believe education is important and I welcome the opportunity to assist with the fiscal responsibility of the division.”
