Retiree Recognition

The NLPS Board of Trustees formally recognized 13 retirees from the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year in small ceremonies that took place on September 29 and October 13. 

"We have really missed bringing all of the staff together to celebrate our retirees and recognize their contributions to our students and our schools," said Board Chair Arlene Hrynyk. "The Board wanted to make sure our retirees know they are appreciated and that we will miss having them in our schools."

Approximately 30 staff have retired over the last two years. Normally retirees are recognized at the Board's annual Staff Recognition Evening held in May. However, due to COVID, it has not been possible to hold that event in 2020 or 2021. Other retirees have already been recognized by the Board privately.

Congratulations to the following retirees from the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years:

  • Beverley Holoboff, 34 years of service
  • Janice Fulawka, 33 years of service
  • Sue Reilly, 32 years of service
  • Kelly Shyry, 32 years of service
  • Dan Coonan, 31 years of service
  • Dennis Hodinsky, 31 years of service
  • Badry Fyith, 30 years of service
  • Lori Hamel, 30 years of service
  • Kathy McKale, 30 years of service
  • Blair Norton, 30 years of service
  • Kenneth Pshyk, 30 years of service
  • Lois Phillips, 29 years of service
  • Denise Makaruk, 27 years of service
  • Cheryl Burns, 26 years of service
  • Cathy Vaters, 19 years of service
  • Michele Gauthier, 13 years of service
  • PennyLynn Heffner, 11 years of service
