Northern Lights Public Schools is pleased to announce that Robin Smith Mandel has been appointed Assistant Principal of Aurora Middle School for 2024-2025.
“Robin’s diverse experiences in education provide her with a unique perspective that helps her to connect with students and families and provide engaging learning opportunities,” said Superintendent Rick Cusson.
Smith Mandel is currently a Grade 5 teacher at Aurora Middle School. Prior to joining the team at Aurora, she taught at WISE, Portage College, Light of Christ, Vera M. Welsh Elementary School and Edmonton Public Schools. Smith Mandel has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, and is currently pursuing certification as a forest and nature school practitioner.
“I am delighted to accept the opportunity to join the Aurora Middle School administrative team as Assistant Principal. As a passionate educator that endorses meaningful, experiential learning experiences, my goal is to spark a lifelong learning journey in others,” said Smith Mandel. “I aim to apply my knowledge and skills to offer a grounded, visionary approach to leadership. I am looking forward to embarking upon my leadership journey with the students, families, and staff at Aurora!”
