As we approach World Mental Health Day, NLPS would like to thank all of our families for their support of our division priority to improve students’ mental health and wellness. By working together we can ensure our students have the supports they need at school, at home and in the community to address their mental health and wellness.
Our Mental Health theme for October is Positive Mindset. This is the practice of focusing on the good in any situation and expecting positive results. Some of the things you can do to create a positive mindset include practising gratitude, spending time with positive people, practising positive self-talk, and starting every day on a positive note.
Our Mental Health team will be focusing on Positive Mindset with students in our schools this month. They have also prepared some resources for caregivers that can be used at home to help children develop and practise a positive mindset.
