Jennifer Procinsky is the first person you see when you walk into Iron River School, always ready with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm.
“She brings a positive attitude to work every day and it permeates through our whole school,” said Principal Dustin Blake.
He explained that Procinsky has an innate ability to sense what people need and make sure they feel cared for and supported.
“Kids come to the office and she handles them each with love and compassion. No matter why they are there, she knows the real reason, and can handle them in exactly the right way to make their day.”
Whether she’s helping in the concession, fixing a printer jam, planting flowers to beautify the school, or writing a thoughtful note to someone she knows is struggling, Procinsky, the school's administrative assistant, can always be counted on to keep things running smoothly, and do it all with kindness and compassion.
Blake said the relationships that Procinsky has developed with the staff, students and parents are an integral part of Iron River School’s welcoming culture and strong sense of community.
“She is the glue that holds us all together,” he said.
Despite the accolades, Procinsky remains humble about her contributions.
“I just try to help out whenever and wherever I can,” she said. “We wouldn’t be a team if we didn’t all work together and help each other, and see where we can pick up the slack when someone else is in need. I love my team, I love the kids, I love the school community.”
Jennifer Procinsky is the NLPS Staff Shining Star for October. Each month during the 2025-2026 school year, NLPS is featuring different Shining Stars and celebrating their meaningful difference in the lives of students, staff, and their school communities.
