Mental Health Month

May 1-7 is Mental Health Week and we are aligning our theme with the Canadian Mental Health Association - My Story. Sharing personal mental health stories stigma and help others feel less alone in their own journeys. NLPS has created a place for people to share their stories on our Engage NLPS site. You can write a story or poem, share a picture or artwork, or upload a video.  We encourage everyone who feels safe sharing their story to consider sharing their story with others. This is a also a great time to share stories about the local organizations who are supporting mental health in our communities.

May is Mental Health Month and our schools have lots of things planned to help students learn about the strategies they can use to take care of their mental health.

Our students will be learning about the many factors that affect mental health, things they can do to address their mental health, and ways they can help others. Our Mental Health Team - Student Advocacy Counsellors and Wellness Coaches - will be sharing resources with students, staff and families, and supporting activities and initiatives in our classrooms.
