February is a great time to spread some warmth and bring joy to others. This month our Student Advocacy Counsellors and Wellness Coaches will be focusing on kindness and ways students can demonstrate kindness to others.
Here are some resources that can be used at home that focus on kindness:
- Five Arts and Crafts Activities to Teach Kids About Kindness and Compassion
Get creative and learn about kindness at the same time. Includes instructions for making kindness presents, random acts of kindness bingo, making a paper chain of kindness, creating a long distance hug, and sending kindness in the mail. - Books that Teach Compassion for Upper Elementary and Middle School
Great book suggestions that could help kickstart a family conversation about kindness and compassion. Many of these are available at our school libraries or checked out of your local community library! - VIDEO: Kindness Ted Talk
Learn about the power of kindness with Orly Wahba, founder of Life Vest Inside.
