Northern Lights Public Schools is pleased to announce that Karen Draycott has been appointed Assistant Principal of Cold Lake Middle School starting in September 2022.

“Karen’s focus on building strong relationships with students, families, and the community will help enhance the school culture that is being created as it transitions to a 7-9 school,” said Superintendent Rick Cusson. 

Draycott is currently Principal of Iron River School, a position she has held since the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to that she served as Assistant Principal of Northern Lights Outreach Schools for three years. She was also a teacher at Ardmore School for six year, and served as the school’s Learning Coach and Inclusive Educator.

“I am looking forward to meeting all of the students, families, and staff at Cold Lake Middle School and working with them to create amazing opportunities for our students to learn, grow and succeed,” said Draycott.

As part of changing the configuration of the division’s schools in Cold Lake, an additional administration position was added at Cold Lake Middle School. Draycott will join Principal Chan Cusson and Assistant Principal Twila Moore as the administration team for the school for the 2022-2023 school year.
